The Cupertino based Apple leverages its computer savvy and the technologies of its legendary iPhone with the new Apple iPad. Apple look to be following a trend when releasing a new iPhone into the market, as with the previous release of the iPhone 4 when the company then released a new and cheaper 8GB version of their 3GS model they have now done exactly the same with the current iPhone 4.

Consumers can now buy a cheaper version of the iPhone 4 with a cut down 8GB of internal memory which is now being sold alongside the original 16GB and 32GB models as Apple release their new iPhone 4S smart phone to the world.

Why the iPad Might Be Good For Students

Recently the iPad, Apple's tablet computer, has been revealed to the world. There is still quite a bit of speculation as to what people will do with this device. One area of discussion is whether or not something like the iPad will be good for students.

With a 10 hour battery life and simplicity in design it's possible that a small computer like this starting at 0 will become a fairly popular gadget for students while going to school.

Comparing The HTC Sensation With The New Apple iPhone 4S

The Apple iPhone 4S has recently been announced in Apple's keynote speech. It is the new flagship smartphone in the ever popular iPhone range and brings a number of improvements over the wildly popular iPhone 4.

The smartphone market is very competitive at the moment though, so how does the iPhone 4S measure up against the likes of the HTC Sensation, the flagship smartphone from the popular Taiwanese firm? In this article I will offer a comparison of the two handsets, looking at some of their main features, and try to offer a conclusion as to which phone is better.

HTC Sensation

The HTC Sensation is the manufacturer's current flagship Android smartphone, and comes with all the bells and whistles you would expect, in terms of software. The latest version of the Android OS (v2.3, aka Gingerbread) is included, with HTC Sense running over the top. Sense is the manufacturer's custom Android interface, and allows users to customise their handset to a high degree with multiple homescreens and widgets. Android Market is also included, allowing users to access thousands of apps. The HTC Sensation also packs a very powerful processor, clocking in at 1.2 GHz (dual-core). Combined with the Android software, the processor makes for a great user experience, ensuring the phone performs to its maximum potential. The device also comes with a built in 8 megapixel digital camera, which boasts 1080p video capture, dual LED flash, and a front facing VGA camera for self portrait photos and video calls. Obviously there is a lot more to the Sensation than what I can cover in this article, but hopefully you now have an idea of how powerful and versatile the phone is.

iPhone 4S

The original iPhone 4 was indeed a very impressive smartphone. The iPhone 4S, as you would expect has taken this winning formula and made a number of improvements. These have been made in several different aspects of the phone. For starters, there is a new processor. The Apple A5 chip is 1 GHz (dual-core) and is the same processor found in the iPad 2. This is essentially twice as powerful as the chip in the iPhone 4 (1 GHz Apple A4 processor), and therefore offers efficient multitasking, as well as top performance in terms of application loading and operating speeds, loading times of web pages and responsiveness of the touchscreen to name but a few. The camera has been upped to 8 megapixels, and video capture to 1080p, putting it on par with the HTC Sensation. There are also many innovative new tweaks to the software as well as new applications. Most notable are the new iCloud service and Siri. iCloud is a service which allows users to remotely store and wirelessly transfer data and files between any Apple device, and Siri is the new voice activated virtual assistant. This can understand an incredible array of commands, questions and queries, which puts the iPhone 4S on another level, with competing smartphones not offering anything similar at this time.

Choosing between the two will largely be down to preference for either Android or iOS. The HTC Sensation is undoubtedly a great phone, but because it is much newer, the iPhone 4S may have the edge in terms of the features it offers.
